Simpson Thacher Bolsters Intellectual Property/Privacy Capabilities with Addition of Two Partners

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP today announced that Caroline Geiger and James (“Jamie”) Talbot have joined the Firm’s New York office as Intellectual Property/Privacy and Cybersecurity Partners.

“Intellectual property, cybersecurity and privacy considerations are increasingly critical to companies across every sector, particularly given the growth of artificial intelligence and tech-enabled businesses,” said Alden Millard, Chair of Simpson Thacher’s Executive Committee. “Caroline and Jamie are known for their significant transactional expertise and strategic advice in these areas, which will be an asset to our clients across our growing platform. We are pleased to welcome them to the Firm.”

Caroline advises on the IP and technology aspects of complex mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs and other transactions. She regularly negotiates IP and software licensing arrangements, commercial agreements and development deals. Caroline joins from another international law firm, where she was Co-Head of the IP and Technology Transactions Group.

Jamie focuses on high profile IP transactional matters, including those arising from technology development and licensing, mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, outsourcing of business practices, information security and privacy projects. Jamie joins the Firm from another international law firm.
