Leah Malone Quoted in GIR on the Dissolution of the SEC’s ESG Taskforce

Leah Malone, Leader of Simpson Thacher’s Sustainability and ESG Practice, was quoted in an article titled, “No End to ESG Work Following SEC Task Force Dissolution, Lawyers Say,” which was published by Global Investigations Review. The article discussed how the SEC dissolved its specialized ESG Task Force just over three years after it was established, indicating that the relevant expertise now exists within the agency as a whole. When pointing to a specific ESG-related action that was brought by the SEC against a company after the Task Force was believed to be dissolved, Leah noted, “I think that [case] might be an indication that the SEC means it when it says that it didn’t rely solely on the task force to bring these types of cases and that they will continue to pursue these actions.”
