Lori Lesser Comments in Bloomberg Law on Kathi Vidal, President Biden’s Pick to Lead the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

Lori Lesser, Head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice and Co-Chair of the Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice, was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article titled, “‘Opportunity for Balance’ Seen With Biden’s Patent Office Pick.” The article focused on President Biden’s recent announcement that he intends to nominate Kathi Vidal as Under Secretary for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office at the Department of Commerce. Lori noted that, “She will have instant credibility with all the USPTO’s constituencies, which together with her leadership and policy chops will allow her to implement sound technology policies for the administration.” She further highlighted that Ms. Vidal, “…is a big promoter of diversity in the IP and technology sector.”
