In Bloomberg Law’s article titled, “Wachtell Unseated as Big Law’s Top Dealmaker by Simpson Thacher,” Bloomberg reported that Simpson Thacher advised on the highest volume of deals among law firms in the first three quarters of 2021, ranking first in a number of categories, including Global and U.S. Announced Deals and U.S. Private Equity Deals by volume. Katie Sudol and Eric Swedenburg, Co-Heads of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice, were quoted in the article on global mergers and acquisitions activity, which has continued at a record-breaking pace propelled by investor confidence and private equity deals, and the Firm’s market-leading work. They highlighted that the Firm has been incredibly busy advising on a variety of types of transactions across industries and sectors and that private equity has been a big deal driver in 2021 for both Simpson Thacher and the market.
