Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in ¥160 Billion Yen-Denominated Bond Offering by Berkshire Hathaway

Simpson Thacher represented J.P. Morgan Securities plc, Merrill Lynch International and Mizuho Securities USA LLC, in the registered public offering of ¥160 billion aggregate principal amount of debt securities by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (“Berkshire”), consisting of ¥40 billion of 0.173% Senior Notes due 2026, ¥80 billion of 0.437% Senior Notes due 2031 and ¥40 billion of 0.969% Senior Notes due 2041. The offering closed on April 15, 2021.

Berkshire and its subsidiaries engage in diverse business activities including insurance and reinsurance, freight rail transportation, utilities and energy, finance, manufacturing, services and retailing. Berkshire’s common stock is listed on the NYSE under trading symbols BRK.A and BRK.B.
