Antonio Bavasso Quoted in GCR on Newly Launched U.K. Digital Markets Unit

Antitrust Partner Antonio Bavasso was quoted in a Global Competition Review article titled, “UK launches Digital Markets Unit.” The article discussed the newly launched Digital Markets Unit (DMU), which will act as a regulator within the U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and will eventually enforce a new code of conduct for digital platforms. Antonio said the creation of the DMU is an important step in establishing a world-leading digital framework in the United Kingdom. He added that the DMU launch shows that the CMA and the U.K. government “recognise that things move very quickly in this sector and they should not waste any time whilst the necessary legislation to underpin the new regulatory regime goes through parliament.”
