Simpson Thacher will continue to stand against hate and racism. We stand together with all of our colleagues, clients, friends and family in the Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities. Tuesday’s brutal killings of 8 people, most of them Asian women, are the most recent hateful crimes against people of color in the United States. Each of us must play an active and intentional role to stop these anti-Asian hate incidents. The first step is to ensure our words and actions demonstrate our commitment to full inclusion and are devoid of racial and ethnic slurs, stereotypes, and micro-aggressions. Recently, we connected with our affinity bar partners NAPABA and AABANY to explore new partnerships to combat anti-Asian incidents and crimes, including by expressing our support for NAPABA’s Stand Against Hate campaign. We will continue to invest in those and similar efforts, many of them through the STB United for Justice framework launched last year. Though we continue to witness acts of prejudice and violence all too frequently, we must continue to move forward as a Firm united in support of our communities of color, and united in denouncing hate and racism.
