New Mountain Capital Completes $10.2 Billion of Private Equity Fundraising

Simpson Thacher advised New Mountain Capital in the formation and raising of two funds totaling more than $10 billion in aggregate capital commitments. The Firm advised on the formation and raising of New Mountain Partners VI, L.P. (“Fund VI”), which closed at its hard cap of $9 billion of third party capital commitments, and at $9.55 billion in capital commitments including the capital commitment from New Mountain and its professionals. The Firm also advised on the formation and raising of New Mountain Strategic Equity Fund I, L.P. (“SEF I”), which closed at $523.75 million of third party capital commitments, and at $640 million in capital commitments including the capital commitment from New Mountain and its professionals.

New Mountain Capital is a New York-based alternative investment firm that emphasizes business building and growth. The firm currently manages private equity, public equity, strategic equity and credit funds with more than $30 billion in aggregate capital commitments.
