Simpson Thacher was recognized as a Highly Recommended Firm in New York and Washington, D.C. in Global Competition Review’s 2021 GCR 100 annual report. The report highlights the top antitrust and competition practices globally, recognizing the Firm among “the law firms and economic consultancies doing the most important antitrust work around the world.”
Some of Simpson Thacher’s work highlighted by GCR includes the Firm’s guidance of First Data through a DOJ second request related to its $22 billion merger with Fiserv; securing antitrust clearances for Gardner Denver Holdings in its $15 billion merger with Ingersoll-Rand and for Cypress Semiconductor in its $10.1 billion merger with Infineon Technologies; advising McKesson in beating an antitrust lawsuit brought by Marion Diagnostic Center challenging the pricing of certain generic drugs; and defending 21st Century Oncology in a monopolization suit and a DOJ antitrust investigation into the oncology market in southwest Florida.
