Partner Keith Noreika was the lead speaker for a webinar hosted by Women in Housing & Finance on July 14th titled, “Madden Fixed!! OCC and FDIC Issues Interest Rate Rules.” Keith spoke about how the OCC recently adopted a final rule clarifying that a bank may transfer a loan without affecting the legally permissible interest term, and explained how the rule answers questions surrounding the legal uncertainty created by the Madden decision. He further discussed how the FDIC also issued its own interest rate rule on the heels of the OCC’s.
