SoftBank Group Completes US$4.5 Billion Financing

The Firm has represented a subsidiary of SoftBank Group Corp. (“SBG”) on a JPY 500 billion (US$4.5 billion equivalent) margin loan financing (the “Facility”). The Facility is secured using a portion of shares in SoftBank Corp., SBG’s telecommunications business, that are held through SoftBank Group Japan Corporation. The two-year Facility, which comes with a one-year extension option, is funded by a syndicate of 16 financial institutions and is one of the largest margin loan financings in Asia to date.
