Partners Alan Klein and Marni Lerner were quoted in a Bloomberg Law article titled, “M&A Market Strong But Deal Lawyers Warn of Hesitation in 2020.” The article notes that while early indicators point to the continued health of the M&A market, attorneys must be prepared to help clients navigate potential macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties that may prompt hesitation in dealmaking. In explaining the robust activity in the first half of 2019, Alan commented that going into the year, there was optimism and a sense that people had a grasp on potential issues, and “…that facilitated, particularly in the early part of last year, people who wanted to do large scale transformational transactions feeling comfortable doing them.” In discussing the increase in private equity M&A deals, Marni said the market has been quite active, noting that its “…still very competitive in terms of finding deals.”
