Corporate Partner Parker Kelsey was profiled in Law360 as an “MVP” in Fund Formation. He was recognized for his many successes over the past year, including leading the Simpson Thacher team that advised Blackstone as it raised the largest ever initial fund for a single private equity strategy. The article also highlighted Parker’s role leading the team that closed Strategic Partners Fund Solutions’ eighth fund for $11 billion, which Parker noted as one of his biggest challenges of the year. “Just the pure math was the challenge,” Parker said. “Dealing with as many investors as we had to deal with there and herding them all towards the closing … but we have the deep bench to do that, and we enjoy working on funds like that. I think that’s one of the more exciting aspects of our practice: when we get involved in a fund with that many moving parts.”
