Brooke Cucinella Quoted in Law360 on Proposed Insider Trading Bill

06.11.19

Litigation Partner Brooke Cucinella was quoted in a Law360 article titled “Will Congress Finally Fix Insider Trading Law?,” which discusses Representative Jim Himes’ proposed bill that would shift the basis for insider trading liability from fraud to the "wrongful" use, gathering or communication of inside information. In the article, Brooke noted that the proposed bill would make it easier to bring insider trading cases under the Securities Exchange Act. “It would remove some of the judicially imposed hurdles under 10b-5 and arguably make it easier for the government,” she said. “It allows for the reality of how people are insider trading.”

Brooke is also noted for her role as the federal prosecutor in U.S. v. Blaszczak.
