Rajib Chanda Quoted in Ignites on Fulcrum Fee Structures in Mutual Funds

Corporate Partner Rajib Chanda was quoted in the second piece of a two-part Ignites series titled “Performance Fees Could Spare Active Managers. Fix Them Now: Lawyers.” This article focuses on the future of fee structures in mutual funds, and highlights the Firm’s proposal in its recent Registered Funds Alert for greater flexibility in the type of fee structures that mutual fund providers can employ. According to Rajib, who co-authored the alert, the “forced symmetry” required under the current fulcrum fee model creates a conundrum for managers, because it requires firms to set the base – or midpoint – relatively high in order to comply with the statutory design.
