Corporate Partner Pete Gilman was quoted in an article on the 10 largest private equity fundraisings of the first quarter of 2018. The article, titled “A Look Inside The 10 Largest PE Funds Of Q1,” notes that Simpson Thacher, which assisted on two of the top 10 funds that closed all of 2017, is the only law firm that advised on more than one of the largest funds in the first quarter of 2018. Specifically, the Firm advised on BC European Capital X and EQT VII, the two largest funds of the first quarter, closing at $8.48 billion and $13.23 billion, respectively. Pete notes that “PE fundraising in 2018 hasn’t skipped a beat and is off to a terrific start.”
