Simpson Thacher Represents International Managers in US$11.6 Billion Equity Offering of Japan Post Holdings

Simpson Thacher recently represented Goldman Sachs, Daiwa Securities and Nomura Securities, the joint global coordinators of a ¥1.3 trillion (approximately US$11.6 billion) offering of shares of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. (“JP Holdings”) by the Minister of Finance of Japan. The global offering included an international offering to institutional investors outside Japan in reliance on Rule 144A and Regulation S. The offering was one of the largest equity offerings globally to date this year.
JP Holdings is a holding company principally engaged in offering mail and parcel, banking and life insurance services through its principal operating subsidiaries: Japan Post, Japan Post Bank and Japan Post Insurance.
