Cigna Completes $1.6 Billion Senior Notes Offering and Related Tender Offers

Simpson Thacher recently represented Cigna Corporation (NYSE: CI) (“Cigna”) in connection with its public offering of $600 million of its 3.05% Senior Notes due 2027 and $1 billion of its 3.875% Senior Notes due 2047. The offering closed on September 14, 2017.

The Firm also represented Cigna in connection with its repurchase of $1 billion of outstanding senior notes through tender offers conducted concurrently with the notes offering.

Cigna used a portion of the net proceeds of the notes offering to fund the tender offers and it intends to use the remaining proceeds for general corporate purposes.
