Simpson Thacher represented Castle Creek Capital in connection with raising $267 million for Castle Creek Capital Partners VI after an increase in the hard cap of the fund. Castle Creek has been a leading investor in community banking since 1990. The Rancho Santa Fe based firm raised money from a range of sophisticated investors, including public and corporate pension plans, foundations, endowments, and funds of funds and exceeded its initial target of $250 million for Castle Creek Capital Partners VI. Castle Creek Capital Partners VI expects to make mostly minority investments in U.S.-based community banks.
