Yafit Cohn Quoted in Agenda Article on Board Ransomware Policies

Corporate Counsel Yafit Cohn was quoted in Agenda, a Financial Times news service, in an article titled “Boards Urged to Establish Ransomware Policy.” The article discusses the increase of serious ransomware attacks that have hit companies this past year, and how companies are hoping to address the issue that has become one of the fastest-growing hacking threats. Yafit comments that board directors should look at cyber risk holistically and approach cybersecurity as an enterprise risk management issue. She also notes that directors need not be concerned if they do not fully understand the technological details surrounding the data protection systems and processes at the company, stating that “it is possible to oversee cyber risk efficiently and effectively without having a technical background.”
