The Firm won “Debt Market Deal of the Year” for its representation of the underwriters in Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s TLAC bond issuance and “Equity Market Deal of the Year” for its representation of Kyushu Railway Company in its $3.9 billion global IPO at the 2017 Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards.
Simpson Thacher was also listed as a finalist in the categories of “International Deal Firm of the Year,” “M&A Deal of the Year (Premium)” and “Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year.” Corporate Partner Alan Cannon was also listed as a finalist for “Dealmaker of the Year.”
