Zebra Global Completes Fundraising for Inaugural Fund

Simpson Thacher represented Zebra Global Capital Management, Ltd. (“Zebra Capital”) in connection with the formation of its inaugural fund, Zebra Capital Partners, L.P. and Zebra Capital Travel Partners, L.P. (collectively, the “Fund”). The Fund was oversubscribed with over $800 million in capital commitments and reached its hard cap, receiving capital commitments from leading technology firms, U.S. and non-US endowments and other global institutional investors. The Fund will focus on scalable investment opportunities primarily in China.
Zebra Capital was founded by Chenchao (CC) Zhuang, Yilu Zhao and Yongqiang (David) Wu. CC Zhuang co-founded Qunar.com in 2005, and, along with the other founders, helped build the business into China’s fourth largest e-commerce company.
The Simpson Thacher team consisted of Adam Furber, Michael Ceulen and Chuan Liu (Asia Private Funds); Jason Vollbracht and Sarah Katz (Tax); and Jeanne Annarumma (ERISA).
