Simpson Thacher received the “Finance Team of the Year” Award at the 2017 Chambers USA Awards. This marks the third time the Firm has been recognized with this award, having also received it in 2010 and 2015. The award recognized the Firm’s “preeminent” Capital Markets and Banking and Credit Practices, which Chambers commends for their “impressive breadth of experience” and “deep bench across the U.S.” Chambers praised the Firm for its “impressive capital markets capabilities” and its well-rounded banking practice, noting that the firm attracts leading financial institutions on lender-side transactions and is a “go-to for global corporates on the borrower side.”

In addition, the Firm won the “Tax Team of the Year” Award (more information on which can be found here) and was a finalist for awards in Real Estate and Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation.

The award was conferred by Chambers & Partners at its annual U.S. awards ceremony held on May 25, 2017 in New York City. The winning law firms are selected based on research conducted for the annual Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business legal directory, in which many of Simpson Thacher’s attorneys and practice areas receive top-tier rankings.
