Keith Noreika Quoted in IFLR on the Glass-Steagall Act

Partner Keith Noreika was quoted in International Financial Law Review on the Glass-Steagall Act and the parts of that law that still remain intact. The article, “Market rejects Glass-Steagall’s return,” discussed the possibility of reinstating the Glass-Steagall Act, an act created to separate commercial and investment banks, but concludes that it is more likely that the Volcker rule will eventually be removed. “If people gave it some thought, maybe the way to go is less is more, by going back to the basics you can almost get rid of Volcker and concentrate on what the original rules are – and they should provide the type of protection that people say they want,” commented Keith.
