Litigation Associate Sara Clingan was recently featured as the Pro Bono Attorney of the Month by Kids in Need of Defense (“KIND”). Sara also participated in a video interview with KIND to discuss her experience working with the organization and the children she has helped gain status in the U.S. Sara began working with KIND in 2012, taking on her first pro bono case which involved a young boy from El Salvador. Christie Turner, KIND Supervising Attorney for pro bono programs in Washington, D.C. commented, “Sara has really gone above and beyond—now having worked on close to 10 cases. She just took on a challenging new case and then realized that girl had a sister who also needed help, so she has offered to help the sister as well.”
KIND serves as the leading organization for the protection of children who enter the U.S. immigration system alone and strives to ensure that no such child appears in immigration court without representation.
