Simpson Thacher won Investment Funds Firm of the Year at the Asia Legal Awards 2017 for its representation of clients across the Asia-Pacific region on a variety of complex and sophisticated fund formation transactions in 2016. The Firm has a preeminent private investment funds presence in Asia, led by Adam Furber, the Head of Simpson Thacher’s Asia Private Funds Practice. The Asia Legal Awards are an annual awards series hosted by The Asian Lawyer in conjunction with China Law & Practice, The American Lawyer and Legal Week.
The Firm was also awarded Finance Deal of the Year: Acquisitions for its representation of ChemChina in connection with its announced US$43 billion acquisition of Syngenta, which represents the largest foreign acquisition by a Chinese company.
