Simpson Thacher successfully secured a grant of asylum for a Honduran family which had been threatened with death and extorted by the MS-13 gang on account of the mother witnessing a gang murder. The family’s case was heard by the Immigration Court in New York. The pro bono matter was referred to the Firm by Human Rights First. The Simpson Thacher team included Rachel Sparks Bradley, Patrick Campbell and Kate Stein, and was supervised by Alan Turner.
