The Firm is representing KKR in connection with its pending investment in PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (“PT Japfa Tbk”), a company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Subject to customary closing conditions, PT Japfa Tbk will issue 750 million new shares to KKR via a private placement for approximately US$52.9 million and, concurrently with the private placement, Japfa Ltd. (the controlling shareholder of PT Japfa Tbk) will sell 441.7 million shares in PT Japfa Tbk to KKR for approximately US$28.3 million. Following the closing of these transactions, KKR will hold a 10.44% stake in PT Japfa Tbk.

PT Japfa Tbk is one of Indonesia’s largest agri-food companies. It operates an integrated production chain that includes animal feed manufacturing, poultry breeding, commercial production of broilers, fish, shrimp and beef, as well as value-added food processing.

KKR is making this investment from its Asian Fund II and marks its first direct private equity investment in Indonesia. The Firm also represented KKR in its investment in PT Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food Tbk in 2013, KKR’s first investment in Indonesia.
