Simpson Thacher acted as sole international counsel in connection with the offering of US$400 million 2.625% Notes due 2021 and US$300 million 3.25% Notes due 2026 by Kia Motors Corporation. The offering was conducted in reliance upon Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended.
Kia Motors Corporation, together with Hyundai Motor Company and their combined subsidiaries, ranked fifth in global vehicle sales in 2015 according to IHS Global Insight. Citigroup Global Markets Inc., The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, J.P. Morgan Securities plc, Merrill Lynch International and Nomura International plc, were joint bookrunners for the offering.
