Simpson Thacher is representing APX Parent Holdco, Inc., an affiliate of Blackstone and parent company of Vivint, Inc. (“Vivint Smart Home”), in connection with Vivint Smart Home’s $100 million equity raise. The equity investment is being made by a group of investors co-led by Solamere Capital and Peter Thiel.
Vivint Smart Home is a leading provider of smart home technology and provides integrated smart home products, including thermostats, security cameras, doorbell cameras and sensors.
Solamere Capital is a strategic investment firm founded by Tagg Romney, Eric Scheuermann and Spencer Zwick. Mitt Romney serves as Chairman of the Executive Partner Group of Solamere Capital.
Peter Thiel is a venture capitalist and entrepreneur who co-founded PayPal. Thiel was the first outside investor in Facebook and is one of the largest shareholders of Airbnb.
