Simpson Thacher Represents Barclays in Connection with Financings for Kinder Morgan, Inc.

The Firm represented Barclays Bank PLC and the lenders in connection with a $1 billion term loan facility for Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI) and a $1 billion incremental expansion of Kinder Morgan’s existing revolving facility. Proceeds from the financings will be used for the company’s working capital needs and for other general corporate purposes, including the repayment of existing debt. Barclays is the administrative agent for both facilities.

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. It owns an interest in or operates approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and approximately 165 terminals. The company’s pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, CO2 and other products, and its terminals store petroleum products and chemicals, and handle bulk materials like coal and petroleum coke.
