Rajib Chanda Quoted in FundFire on Growth in Regulated Investment Company (RIC) Funds

Corporate Partner Rajib Chanda was quoted in FundFire on the growth of private equity-themed regulated investment company (“RIC”) or “interval” funds. Rajib predicts that the broader RIC market may be poised for additional players as well as new investment themes. As more and more private equity firms have developed credit-focused products, Rajib notes that it’s not surprising that funds of funds focused on credit have gain attention. Rajib also mentions the possibility of RIC funds tapping the growing business development company (“BDC”) market for assets alongside private funds, secondaries, and co-investments. He notes that even a small amount of investment into BDC-sourced debt (currently no more than 10% allowed without special regulatory relief) provides RIC funds with a greater pool of possible investments and significantly greater liquidity.
