Consortium Led by Colbun S.A. Acquires Fenix Power Peru

The Firm represented Colbun S.A. (“Colbun”) and the consortium led by it in connection with its acquisition of Fenix Power Peru S.A. (“Fenix Power”) from AEI. The consortium is controlled by Colbun (51%) and also included a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) (with 36%) and the infrastructure investment fund managed by Sigma Capital (a Peruvian investment firm) (with 13%). The value of the acquired assets was approximately $786 million.

Fenix Power owns a large power plant in Peru with an approximately 9% market share in the Peruvian power generation sector (Sistema Eléctrico Interconectado de Peru). Colbun operates 23 power plants, with approximately 21% market share in the Chilean power sector (Sistema Interconectado Central de Chile).
