Simpson Thacher represented CarProof Corporation (CarProof) and certain of its shareholders, including affiliates of Hellman & Friedman LLC, in connection with the acquisition of CarProof Corporation by IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) for C$650 million.
CarProof, a Canadian company founded in 2000, offers products and services in vehicle history, appraisal and valuation for the automotive industry. CarProof is the industry standard in Canada for providing automotive vehicle history reports to dealers, auto auctions, original equipment manufacturers, lenders, insurers, governments, law enforcement agencies and consumers.
