In both Palo Alto and New York, Nicholas Goldin, Lori Lesser, Jeff Ostrow and Yafit Cohn hosted a CLE titled, “Cybersecurity Law, Technology and Tactics: What All In-House Lawyers Need to Know.” The panelists provided an overview of privacy law in the United States and the European Union, discussed the board of director’s role in overseeing cybersecurity risks, offered practical steps companies could take to reduce the risk of and prepare for a data breach, explained what companies should do when a breach occurs, and discussed potential liability arising from data breaches.
