As reported in a recent New York State Bar Association State Bar News article, Litigation Partner Bill Russell has been appointed to a six-person committee formed by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman and State Bar President Glenn Lau-Kee to address the issues raised by the controversial pro bono reporting rule that requires attorneys to report their pro bono hours and charitable contributions. The formation of the committee is part of a compromise being worked out between the State Bar and the Office of Court Administration that would allow attorneys to report their hours anonymously and ensure that the information is publicly available on an aggregate basis only.
