Simpson Thacher Acted as Sole International Counsel in US$500 Million Notes Offering by Korea East-West Power

Simpson Thacher acted as sole international counsel in connection with the offering of US$500 million 2.50% Notes due June 2, 2020 by Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd. The offering was conducted in reliance upon Rule 144A and Regulation S under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended.

Korea East-West Power is one of six wholly-owned electricity generation subsidiaries of Korea Electric Power Corporation, a government-controlled electricity company in Korea. Barclays Bank PLC, BNP Paribas, acting through its Hong Kong branch, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, Merrill Lynch International and UBS AG, Hong Kong Branch, were Joint Bookrunners for the offering.

The Simpson Thacher team included Jin Hyuk Park, Johneth C. Park and John Hahn (Corporate); and Jacqueline Barbera (Tax).
