Alan Klein Discusses Rise of M&A in The M&A Journal

Simpson Thacher Corporate Partner Alan Klein discussed the state of 2014’s M&A market in The M&A Journal’s September 2014 edition, which presented the views of five senior practitioners in the field. Alan commented, “Shareholders now support M&A deals, no question about it. The big sea change is CEO confidence on a whole host of levels. At this point, we've had a reasonably extended period of what appears to be sustainable growth.” He adds, “That does two things. One, it makes people more confident that we’re not careening through a fog toward a cliff we can’t see. It felt that way for quite an extended period. The other is, with relatively limited growth organically, looking at the economy overall, acquisitions are in fact a way to grow.”
