Simpson Thacher Senior Chairman Dick Beattie and corporate Partner Rob Spatt served as guest faculty members at NYU Law School on April 7, 2014. As part of the Corporate Transactions course taught by former Chancellor of the Delaware Chancery Court Professor William Allen, and Professor Gerald Rosenfeld, the partners served as Advisors to students who presented a lengthy analysis of News Corp.’s 2007 acquisition of Dow Jones. Mr. Beattie and Mr. Spatt represented the independent board members of Dow Jones in that transaction.
