Simpson Thacher advised DynaVox Inc., a portfolio company of Vestar Capital Partners, on the initial public offering of shares of its Class A common stock. Piper Jaffray & Co. and Jefferies & Company, Inc. were the lead underwriters for the $140.63 million offering. The shares began trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “DVOX” on April 22, 2010. DynaVox is the leading provider of speech generating devices and symbol-adapted special education software used to assist individuals in overcoming their speech, language and learning challenges.
