The Firm recently won several awards in the private equity and M&A categories at the 2014 IFLR Asia Awards and 2013 China Business Law Journal Awards.  Simpson Thacher was named Private Equity Team of the Year by IFLR Asia and Private Equity & Venture Capital International Practice of the Year by China Business Law Journal. 

In addition, the Firm was recognized for advising Focus Media on its US$3.7 billion going private transaction by a consortium comprised of FountainVest, Carlyle, CITIC, CDH, China Everbright and Jason Jiang.  Following its completion, the transaction was the largest-ever going private transaction involving a China-based company. This transaction was named the Private Equity Deal of the Year by IFLR Asia and Take Private Deal of the Year by China Business Law Journal.
