Simpson Thacher Advises Infinis on IPO

Simpson Thacher has recently represented Infinis and its principal shareholder, Terra Firma, on the initial public offering by Terra Firma of Infinis shares that raised an aggregate of £234 million for Terra Firma. Infinis is the leading independent renewable energy generator in the UK and the third largest generator of renewable power produced under the Renewables Obligation regime in the UK. Infinis is the largest generator of electricity from landfill gas in the UK and one of the leading UK onshore wind generators.

The offer comprised the sale of a portion of ordinary shares held by Terra Firma in Infinis. The shares of Infinis are admitted to the premium listing segment of the Official List and traded on the main market for listed securities of the London Stock Exchange. Simpson Thacher advised on the U.S. law aspects of the offer and worked as a team with Slaughter and May, English counsel to Infinis and Terra Firma.
