Simpson Thacher Palo Alto corporate partner Rich Capelouto has been named one of the 2013 Top 100 Lawyers in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal.  He is recognized for leading the Simpson Thacher team representing Silver Lake Partners in the announced $24.4 billion acquisition of Dell, Inc.  This transaction represents the largest private equity buyout since 2007.  Regarding the complexity of the deal, Mr. Capelouto notes “there are simply more moving parts involved in larger private equity deals than in other types of transactions.”  Working with Mr. Capelouto in leading the team on this transaction is Palo Alto corporate partner Chad Skinner.  Mr. Capelouto was also recognized by The American Lawyer as a Dealmaker of the Week in February 2013 for this transaction. In the Daily Journal profile, Mr. Capelouto is also acknowledged for representing Hellman & Friedman in the approximately $3.8 billion sale of Goodman Global to Daikin Industries in August 2012.  This annual ranking by the Daily Journal evaluates top California lawyers of all disciplines and selects the attorneys that stand out as the top 100 in the state.
