Robert Smit Quoted in Corporate Counsel Article Entitled "Arbitration Agency Offers New Administered Rules"

Simpson Thacher International Arbitration Partner Rob Smit was recently quoted in Corporate Counsel in an article entitled “Arbitration Agency Offers New Administered Rules.” The article discusses the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution’s (“CPR”) new administrated rules. Mr. Smit is the Chair of the subcommittee of CPR’s Arbitration Committee, which drafted the new rules. Mr. Smit notes that the new rules act as a move to cut costs to arbitration users, noting, “the administrative cost compares favorably… because you’re using them for discrete tasks, you’re paying them less.”
