Simpson Thacher corporate partner Alan Klein has organized and will Chair the International Bar Association's 12th Annual International Mergers and Acquisitions Conference in New York City on June 5 and 6, 2013, which will have over 325 participants from around the world. Corporate partner Mario Ponce will participate on a panel which will address current issues involving stockholder activism. Other speakers and commentators at the Conference include the Honorable Myron T. Steele, Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court, and the Honorable Leo E. Strine Jr., Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery; John Finley, Senior Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer of The Blackstone Group; Michael Carr, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Americas at Goldman Sachs & Co.; William D. Anderson Jr., Managing Director at Goldman, Sachs & Co.  and Chris Cernich, Director of  M&A & Proxy Contest Research at ISS. The keynote speaker is Peter Orszag, former Director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget in the Obama Administration and currently Vice-Chairman, Corporate and Investment Banking, Citigroup, Inc.
