The Firm recently advised Avianca Holdings S.A. (BVC: PFAVTA) in its US$300 million inaugural global bond offering of 8.375% Senior Notes due 2020. Avianca Holdings intends to use the net proceeds from the sale to finance its fleet modernization and other general corporate purposes.
Avianca Holdings S.A. is a leading airline in Latin America resulting from the combination of Avianca Airlines and Taca Airlines in February 2010, two established airlines with uniquely complementary operations in the Andean region (Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) and Central America (Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama). Simpson Thacher represented Avianca Airlines in its business combination with Taca Airlines.
