On April 30, the New York office hosted 18 high school freshmen and sophomores from the Frederick Douglass Academy II (“FDA II”) in Harlem as part of the Firm’s Urban Education Initiative. The students learned about different jobs within a law firm and participated in a moot court oral argument. Nineteen Simpson Thacher staff members and attorneys participated in this program, which was coordinated by Urban Education Initiative Coordinator Sabrina Carreras and Corporate Senior Counsel Steven R. DeLott. Litigation partner Thomas C. Rice gave welcoming remarks to the students.
