Simpson Thacher represented affiliates of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. in connection with their acquisition of three solar photovoltaic energy projects from an affiliate of Starwood Energy Group. Located in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, the solar projects represent one of the largest photovoltaic facilities in North America and the second largest in Canada. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Simpson Thacher team included Andrew Smith and Daeyna Grant (M&A); Ken Wyman and Amy Beller (Project Finance); and Nancy Mehlman (Tax).
