Simpson Thacher corporate partner Rich Capelouto was named "Dealmaker of the Week" by The American Lawyer for leading the Simpson Thacher team representing Silver Lake Partners in the announced $24.4 billion acquisition of Dell, Inc.  If completed, this transaction will be the largest private equity buyout since 2007.  The American Lawyer highlights the nearly 15-year relationship the Firm has had with Silver Lake, noting Mr. Capelouto's role in Silver Lake’s 2010 $3.1 billion purchase of Interactive Data Corporation, among others. In the article, Mr. Capelouto credits the entire Simpson Thacher team for structuring and negotiating the complex deal and guiding it to signing, saying "This is a large team with people having to push individually complicated pieces of a transaction forward, but do it in a way where it was all integrated and was able to come together."
