The Firm was recognized for our representation of hiSoft Technology International in connection with its stock-for-stock merger with VanceInfo Technologies valued at US$875 million. This transaction was a merger of equals and, based on industry market research reports, has created the largest China-based offshore IT services provider. Take Private Deal of the Year
Simpson Thacher was recognized for our representation of Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the financial advisor to the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited, in connection with a going private transaction of Shanda. The transaction values Shanda’s equity at US$2.3 billion. This transaction is one of the largest going private transactions for a China-based company that has been successfully concluded to date.
